Registration and Census Verification
Registration and census verification information for the 2018-2019 school year has been sent home with your child for all children already enrolled in SPARK. Please take a moment to review the information and verify the report’s accuracy. Please return the verification report to your child’s teacher. Students already enrolled in SPARK do not need to go through the full registration process again.

The first day of school for the 2018-2019 school year is August 1, 2018.
Who has to register?
Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th – Or any students who have moved to another APS school or moved into APS from another district.
When can I register?
All students who are new to SPARK and Atlanta Public Schools must register!
Registration dates for the 2018/19 SPARK academic year are listed on the right. Please come by, if you have not already done so, and register your new student.
For students who enroll after August 1st, parents are requested to register their students between 8:00am – 9:30am. Parents may register students any day at these times. SPARK does have a notary on site, but it is highly recommended that all documentation requiring a notary be completed before arriving at SPARK. Registration packets and a registration checklist may be picked up in the front office.

Why is timely registration important?
The sooner that SPARK knows a final student count, the better they can better prepare needed class space and the right number of teachers. Timely registration reduces the chances of “leveling” (adding a teacher due to unexpected class size, which splits up classrooms a few weeks after school starts). When spring registration is held, even families thinking of sending their child to SPARK for Kindergarten should register during this period. Families can always un-register with a phone call/email if plans change.
Kindergarten Enrollment Tips
APS requires rising K families provide the following (see APS’s registration page for forms):
- deed/mortgage or lease/rental agreement with name, address, and telephone of owner/lessee (current within 30 days), and
- utility bill (current within 30 days), and
- signed and notarized Affidavit of Residency, and
- valid photo ID
- immunization record #3231 for child (obtained from doctor)
- State of Georgia Hearing, Dental, and Vision form #3300 (obtained from doctor)
- birth certificate for child
- Social Security Card or waiver for child
** Families will need to leave copies of #1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 with the school registrar. So, bring originals and one copy per child ** If you do not have #5 and 6, you may register. However, you have 30 days after registering your child to submit these two documents. Beyond that window, you must begin the registration process again.
It is recommended that you register your child and upload all documents online through APS.
