All data pertaining to gifted testing has been returned to the school and the gifted team is busy disaggregating the data to determine eligibility results. Individual reports are being created and will be sent home with students on Thursday, May 3rd. Those students who qualify for services will begin classes next school year.
To help parents to better understand the testing results, the OGATE (Office of Gifted and Talented Education) department will host a meeting on Wednesday, May 16 from 8:30-9:15 a.m. in the SPARK school cafeteria. Individual parent conferences are not held due to the number of students tested, but the OGATE presentation is very thorough and should help stakeholders better understand each of the tests and corresponding scores. To maximize effectiveness, parents planning to attend should bring in their child’s eligibility report with individual scores.
