Upcoming dates/gigs:

Friday, April 20: Druid Hills Tour of Homes singing 20-30 minute gig beginning at 5pm in Druid Hills/Emory Village area (exact location TBD) AC rehearsal will end at 4pm that day!

Saturday, April 28: Opera-tunity– Metropolitan Opera in HD tickets available. Ms. Turgeon has been given a limited number of free tickets for The Metropolitan Opera in HD showing of Cendrillion by Massenet at Perimeter Point on Saturday, 4/28 (yes, same day as the Inman Park Parade). If 1-2 parents are interested in learning about this opera and serving as our chaperone(s) for a group of SPARK and Grady Cluster students as they watch a live showing of the opera in HD, streamed from the Metropolitan Opera in NYC, please contact me! APS Fine Arts will provide a bus, so all you’d need to do is meet the kids at SPARK around 11am and accompany them to the opera, returning to SPARK around 4:30-5pm. I’ll take care of permission slips, etc. There will be concessions at the movie theatre. Also, Mays High School Choral director Garnetta Penn is willing to do an “about the Opera” workshop to prepare you and your child for this event!

Saturday, April 28: Inman Park Festival Parade The Grady Cluster Music Club is marching on Saturday, 4/28, and we’d love to have 4th & 5th graders from all of our cluster schools participating, too! Meet near the corner of Krog and Edgewood a bit before 1pm for lineup, parade begins around 2pm. Parade will end by Horizon (Euclid and Auston Ave) Theatre near Little 5 Points GCMC (Grady Cluster Music Club) will wear our GCMC, SPARK, MES, Lin, & Hope-Hill shirts. We’ll be bucket drumming, marching, dancing and singing. From the Inman Park folks: The Parade takes place rain or shine. The Parade route begins on Edgewood Avenue at Spruce Street, follows Edgewood to Hurt Street, Hurt Street to Euclid Avenue, and Euclid Avenue to Austin Avenue where it disbands. The Parade route length is a mile. The Parade steps off promptly at 2 pm; however, all Parade units must report to the staging area between Krog and Spruce by 1:00 pm for lineup.

Tuesday, May 22 call time 4:30pm, concert 6pm Chorus/AC Spring Concert with selections in honor of Pirnstill. Last week we began work on a song called “Hoops” in honor of Ms. Pirnstill’s retirement, so if your singer and his/her buddies are looking for something fun to do, they can certainly work on some singing parts (on the blog) or a routine that will go.

For more information, please contact Ms. Turgeon.
