Music Notes from Ms. Turgeon

Coming up THIS weekend
Saturday, January 12th and Sunday, January 13th

Two music events are coming up THIS weekend for all students in Advanced Chorus, Grady Cluster Music Club, and all Choruses! Please see each event below for details and RSVP here if your student/s would like to attend!

Sing the National Anthem at the Georgia State University Men’s Basketball Game vs. LA-Monroe
DATE: Saturday, January 12th
TIME: Call time- 12 noon, Game time- 1:00 pm
LOCATION: GSU Sports Arena; 125 Decatur St SE, 30303

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Tickets are FREE for all performers and FREE for any child age 10 and under
Parents and older children (11+) should plan to purchase tickets at the gate.
Full price tickets are $10 upper level, $15 lower level
** By Thursday, Jan 10, tell Ms. Turgeon how many free tickets you need to reserve (again, this includes all performer tickets as well as any siblings/guests age 10 and under)
We will not collect money and we will not pre-order any tickets. We will just reserve any free tickets we need.

Sing the Civil Rights Songs at the High Museum – Featured artists for: Take a Stand
(these will include the same repertoire as the CCHR gig in September)

This event will be for the High Museum Second Sunday Event where they offer free admission for all visitors as well as special family-friendly programming with a theme. January’s Theme is “Take a Stand”.
DATE: Sunday, January 13th
LOCATION: Hill Auditorium at High Museum by the Main Entrance on the Peachtree Street side
TIME: Call time- 12 noon, Performances at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm–performers and families will have free access to the museum before, between, and after performances.
** Ms. Turgeon would love to have a few students do spotlight solos (Blackbird and/or other civil rights songs) as well as some students to help lead audience sing alongs!
